 President - Eric Doerrer

Involved as an original partner and has served six years on the Board of Directors. Current employment is as an Energy and Lighting Consultant with Light Bulb Supply Co. Mr. Doerrer has twelve years plus experience in commercial lighting. Responsible for numerous lighting designs and retrofits of commercial and governmental buildings. Completed GE Lighting Courses in Lighting Design and Advanced Commercial Lighting. Past President of New Mexico Association of Energy Engineers. Retired from US Army at rank of Colonel. Education: BS, School of Industrial Relations, Cornell University, Ithaca NY

 
 Secretary - Ron Rioux

Secretary of Rebuild New Mexico, Employed with APS since 2001 as the District Energy Conservation. Helped save the District over $2,500,000.00 in electrical costs and returned over $700,000.00 directly back to individual school budgets with less than half the district schools participating. In addition to Mr. Rioux's position as Board Member of Rebuild New Mexico, he has also served as a Board Member on the Albuquerque Energy Counsel, the Governors Task Force for High Performance Schools, and an expert on the Albuquerque Mayor’s Sustainability Task Force.

 
 Mary Broemel

Ms. Broemel holds a Masters in Community and Regional Planning from UNM since 1985 and is the current Facilities Project Manager for CNM. In this leadership role she is responsible for managing, coordinating and monitoring facility design, construction, and renovation projects on the CNM campuses. Ms. Broemel is committed to Sustainable Development practices and continues to live a lifestyle of low impact using vermaculture in her home and also teaching/providing instruction on low cost methods to implement sustainable initiatives.

 
 Treasurer - Patrick Dhooge, Ph.D.

Dr. Dhooge holds a Doctorate in Chemistry from The University of New Mexico. Current employment is with the Scientific Laboratory Division of the New Mexico Department of Health. Over twenty years of experience in waste management and energy efficiency technologies, including patented technologies for producing hydrogen from waste materials and for energy efficient refrigerants. Member of the Rebuild NM Board for the past 5 years. Member of the ASTM D34 Committee on Waste Management and the E54 Committee on Homeland Security Applications.

 
 Wayne Evelo Jr.

Member of the Rebuild NM Board since 2001. Holds a B.S., with Honors, in Engineering Science with emphasis in Chemistry, from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, Socorro, NM, Employed as a General Engineer since March 2000 with the U.S. Department of Energy, Sandia Site Office (DOE-SSO), Albuquerque NM, Project Manager for the Assistant Manager for Facilities & Project Management. Past member of the City of Albuquerque’s Energy Council and past Chairman 2005/Vice Chairman 2004. A Board Member with the New Mexico Solar Energy Association (NMSEA), Jan 2000 to present

 
 Roy M. Hertweck

Mr. Hertweck is a registered architect in NM and AZ, and is the Corporate Architect and Site Planner at Sandia National Labs (SNL) at the Albuquerque campus. Mr. Hertweck has worked at SNL for the past 14 years, first as an architectural representative on large project teams, then as the Corporate Architect addressing projects across the spectrum of corporate development, and for the last four years as a site planner. Mr. Hertweck has been an advocate for the integration of sustainable design in his work in both the private sector and for SNL. He has 30 years of professional experience in architecture and planning including 16 years in private sector work. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Pennsylvania State University and a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of New Mexico.

 
 Joseph Matesi

Mr. Matesi is a Designer, Permaculturist and Building, Development and Real Estate Consultant with over 35 years experience. He has been a home builder and realtor engaged by U.S, Canadian and Danish building and development companies, and has attained the National Association of Home Builder’s MIRM and National Association of Realtor’s GRI designations. Mr. Matesi's experience includes single family home, townhome, condominium, apartment, cluster house and community developments. He is founder of Holistic Habitats, Inc. For the past 14 years, his focus has been on creating energy efficient, holistic living environments.

 
 Jack McGowan

President of Energy Control Inc. (ECI), an internationally known energy and technology expert, has been named Chairman of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) GridWise Architecture Council. He is Editor of the Energy Online Column in Energy and Power Management (EPM) and a member of the EPM Technical Advisory Board as well as the boards of Engineered Systems, CABA Intelligent Homes and Buildings and Automatedbuildings.com. Member of the Board of Rebuild New Mexico.

 
 Dave Melton

Mr. Melton is a tribal member of the Pueblo of Laguna, village of Paguate. Mr. Melton is co-principal, President and CEO of Sacred Power Corporation, a renewable energy systems integration manufacturing firm. Mr. Melton has a degree in economics from UNM and 36 graduate hours. Mr. Melton has served as a Member of NM Governor’s Climate Change Advisory Council 2005-2006, which reported back to the Governor on Dec. 1, 2006. He is Past-Chairman of the Albuquerque Energy Council, and a recently resigned current member. AEC is a citizen advisory group to City Council on the 1% Renewable Energy/Energy Conservation Bond, soon to be 3% of the General Bond, totaling around $4.5M. Mr. Melton is Chairman of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico, 2004-2008, a business advocacy group. Mr. Melton serves his tribe as a member of the Board of Directors, Pueblo of Laguna Utility Authority, 2005-2009, an entity created to secure the resources of the Pueblo. Mr. Melton was fortunate to receive the SBA “Person of the Year” presented by Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman and Congresswoman Heather Wilson in October, 2006. The company, Sacred Power Corporation, has been awarded the “Flying 40 Award” recognizing the top 40 Technical fastest and highest growth in revenues and job creation in New Mexico, June, 2007.

 
 Lynne Behnfield Thomas

Ms. Thomas is the director of GLOBAL Energy and has 30 years of experience in energy program design, implementation, and management. She has long been a volunteer to the Rebuild New Mexico community and served the energy community in many ways such as through education as well as holding high professional standards through her work ethic. Ms.Thomas is currently managing a contract for the City of Santa Fe. The team is conducting resource audits of all City-owned buildings and making recommendations for reduction of energy and water use. Ms. Thomas has managed three ECMD contracts to upgrade and localize the International Commercial Building Energy Code for New Mexico, beginning in 1999 through 2005. Deliverables included two cycles of training workshops for code officials around New Mexico. Thomas and subcontractors designed and delivered the workshops, the training manual, and a coordinated videotape and DVD for use by the trainer during the workshop. Since 2000, Ms. Thomas is project manager for the development of a model Architectural Security Code for antiterrorism measures for local and state buildings. This is a Rebuild New Mexico program in partnership with the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS). The ASC was copyrighted in 2004. Rebuild New Mexico, CeCilia Jerkatis, 505-768-5346 Ms. Thomas completed three Million Solar Roofs (MSR) contracts for the City of Albuquerque (COA), under ECMD/DOE funding. She wrote the proposals and served as project manager for Neighborhood Solar, which developed a ten year plan for solar energy in Albuquerque. In January 2008, construction began on solar thermal and photovoltaic energy installations at five COA high school and community swimming facilities. Working with the Coalition for Clean Affordable Energy (CCAE), and in partnership with the Eastern Plains Council of Governments, Ms. Thomas conceived and wrote the proposal for the Rural Wind Initiative, a user-owned, rural wind project funded in 2005 by a Clean Energy Grant from the NM State Energy Office. Work continues with a large agribusiness in Portales to arrange the first user-owned small wind project in New Mexico that will be net metered with a Rural Electric Cooperative.

 
 Programs Director - CeCilia Jerkatis

Program Coordinator – Masters of Arts in Ecological Sustainable Development from Murdoch University, Institute for Environment and Technology Policy, Western Australia. Degree earned as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. Ms. Jerkatis has more than a decade of Contract/Subcontract Management and Program Development experience with for-profit and non-profit organizations often in a contract capacity. Program Director for Rebuild New Mexico since January of 2007.
